How The Paleo Diet Turns Back The Clock On Fat

By Andrew Simpson

In the time when our ancestors had to hunt down a wooly mammoth to get our food, there were no homo sapiens who had double chins or a spare tire about their gut. Living in a time when you had to find your own food in the wild meant a healthier diet for all. You can take advantage of the practices of the past with the Paleo Diet.

The Paleo Diet is the solution to a huge number of different weight issues. If you simply want to eliminate love handles or if you want to totally change your eating habits, going for all-natural ingredients is the best way to ensure that you do not put on more pounds.

By consuming artificial ingredients, furthermore, you never know exactly what it is you are eating. Industrial solvents and solutions can be applied to any food so long as it is called an artificial ingredient, without any way of the consumer knowing exactly what they are putting into their body.

What's in a name? The Paleo Diet is based on the food available in the Paleolithic era, a time when humans ranged far and wide in order to gather edible plants and hunt animals in order to get their next meal. These food options work to eliminate fat stored up in the body by creating better metabolic efficiency.

Before humans were able to grow wheat and corn and barley and rice, we relied on whatever food we could find in the forests and coasts and mountains that we travailed. Our ancestors had to hunt and gather for our food, going out each day in order to bring back a meal that their family unit could share. What was the result of hunting and gathering?

Do you love a T-bone steak seared to perfection? Since our ancestors could hunt and eat wild cattle, you can enjoy one as well. Do you like to nibble on trail mix? Dried fruits and nuts were just as available back then as they are now. Even some anachronisms like ice cream can be made on the Paleo diet, provided you use ingredients (like natural cocoa and vanilla beans) that would have been available in the time of wooly mammoths.

The results of modern, artificial foods speak for themselves. Only one in three Americans are not overweight, and only two in three are not obese. The solution is not maintaining an artificially low calorie count, but maintaining a calorie count low in artificial food. When your body can process and utilize every aspect of its meals, it creates no fat to be stored.

Do not think that the Paleo Diet is restrictive. Instead, think of it as a means of getting delicious meals without having to soak them in saturated fats. Make a chicken and apple salad, for instance, since it contains Paleo-appropriate ingredients, and enjoy the process by thinking about how your ancestors could have done it.

There are so many options available in the Paleo diet that it is easier to tell you what is not available. The syrups and grains and sugars that comprise so much of the "fast food" diet are off limits, since in the Stone Age nobody has heard of cupcakes with no-touch frosting.

This does not mean, however, that you cannot substitute many of your favorite choices to make what you enjoy on the Paleo Diet. Wheat flour, for instance, was not an option of the ancients, but you can make baked goodies out of almond flour, coconut milk, and honey to satisfy a sweet tooth.

Trimming your fat by using the Paleo Diet requires no counting of calories. All you need to do is eliminate the foods that lead to fat-buildup and you are sure to watch a lifetime's worth of soda and pizza fade away. Best of all, you feel better as you look better due to the quality of nutrition.

If you have struggled with losing weight, do not think about cutting calories. Instead, think about cutting artificial food choices so that you are left with the meals our forefathers ate and enjoyed. Only good ingredients going in means that your body will burn up the fat stored from a lifetime of sodas and pizzas, leaving you trim and in good shape.
