How To Know If You Need Corrective Lenses

By Jim Thorpe

Since she was a very small child, the world had seemed, to Charlotte, a little different than the way others described it. Her friends and parents would speak of the rocky face of the mountain, the sharp and pointy rooftop of the church next door, and the stark stripes on the tiger at the zoo, but she just couldn't understand. How can they say the mountain is bumpy, she wondered?

If you have difficulty seeing objects that are far away, yet have no problems viewing items up close, then you might be suffering from nearsightedness. This is one of the most common symptoms of worsening eyes. If you have difficulty reading text on distant signs, poor night vision, or an inability to see the television clearly, then you probably have nearsightedness.

Her world was one in which the mountains smoothly ruffled to the ground, the roof of the church blended softly into the sky, and the colors of the tiger slipped gently from one to another. And she liked her world, it was beautiful, she thought, though it was sometimes hard to find when one thing ended and another began.

Many varieties of glasses are available and you can find a pair of glasses that fit you perfectly. Whether you prefer an understated look, or a bold style that sets you apart from others around you, now is the time to embrace eye fashion, and find the glasses you were made to wear.

This is the world, she wondered? My friends and family had it right, she silently exclaimed! And then, out loud, she asked the boy, "How do I get a pair of these?" and he answered, just two words, "eye doctor." And that night Charlotte asked her parents to use their vision health insurance for a trip to the optometrist.

Those affected by astigmatism have a distorted eye shape, which can affect their ability to see both far away and up close. One of the most identifiable symptoms of astigmatism is seeing an uneven blur, with certain areas of vision being more distorted than others. Seeing double and having watery eyes is also an accurate indicator of this disorder.

Charlotte was sad; she did not want her face marred by the addition of glasses, but Doctor Ais came to the rescue and recommended contact lenses. Hooray said Charlotte! And the doctor explained some simple guidelines to help in her vision health care plans.

While having a vision disorder is no fun, there are ways to help people with these conditions see normally. So if you think you may be suffering from any of these eye problems,

She was very grateful for Dr. Ais, and her vision insurance, and so, Charlotte went home with her new contacts, and was able to choose which world to see, when she chose whether or not to wear contacts each morning.
