Is A Foam Mattress Worth The Price?

By Rey Vetangelo

Is it ever worth the price of an extra supportive foam mattress or pillow? Some families swear by them, keeping one on every bed in the home and sending their kids off to college with them. Others insist that the purchase of a simple mattress and a cheap pillow will do just fine. After all, the Japanese sleep on a floor and a mattress beats that any day.

Surely such fancy bed coverings aren't necessary, and therefore not worth the price. And yet, it's easy to be disgruntledly intrigued by the idea if you've never owned one yourself. A lot can be gleaned from customers who have been satisfied with their switch to foam based support on their beds. You be the judge after checking out their arguments.

With careful and consistent stretching of your legs, you will be able to control the tightness of muscles, not only in your legs but also in your back. To start, focus on your calves and move up to your hamstrings and quadriceps. Simple toe touches and calf stretches should suffice.

Not only with this tone your body but it will provide an inner massage for your muscles, especially in the back. Some of the techniques used in yoga actually calm the body down and can help build inner strength and balance which will help you manage future aches and pains.

One that has become famous is the upward facing dog, or the downward facing dog. Both of these allow your spine to stretch and recover from constant compression throughout the day.

Second, some customers that don't have these problems see the investment as well worth the price. People buy cars for tens of thousands of dollars that they use twice a day for thirty minutes at a time. In contrast, they dare not spend more than a few dollars on a basic mattress and pillow that they use for eight hours a day, every day? Considering the amount of time spent sleeping, wouldn't it be nice to trick out your bed to make it as comfortable as possible? Many see it as an investment to a better lifestyle. Since they plan to spend a lot of time using the product, the foam easily makes up its price.

Third, memory foam is hypoallergenic, meaning that it helps those who suffer from consistent allergies find relief in their beds. Now that said, not every set of sheets will be able to do that for you, but with consistent washes and the purchase of hypoallergenic sheets, you can create a sleep-inducing environment as opposed to an irritating one. Allergies are bad enough when they're not interrupting your rest. Memory foam supports can help you sleep better.

So considering the health and investment benefits of a foam mattress and pillow, what opinion would you hold to? Those suffering from back problems can't rely on the chiropractor in Lehi to fix them well enough to sleep comfortably every night, so they turn to foam.

Just like brushing your teeth, stretching should be a part of your daily routine. If it becomes part of your routine you can expect fewer appointments with the doctor and a stronger more sustainably healthy back. If you do end up running into problems it is good to visit your local Chiropractor in Lehi. Even if you aren't exactly hurting it is good to come up with a game plan with a professional before you cause some major damage to your spine.
