Ways To Injure Your Teeth

By Rey Vetangelo

Teeth are pretty sturdy little things. But as strong as they are, they can still be quite damageable. Even if you brush and floss every day, there are lots of great ways to injure your teeth. Here are a few of the ways.

First, floss gently. You can be thorough and gentle at the same time. Don't apply excessive pressure against your gums. Lightly move around the fleshy gums, but don't be afraid to scrape against the tooth. Second, don't snap your floss between the two teeth. The intense pressure will hurt your gums.

Others tripped and knocked out their front teeth on the pavement outside. Just thinking of it makes me shudder. Nasty! How do we avoid situations like these? Well, just try to pay better attention to where you are going. But accidents will happen regardless. So, sorry.

Second, floss right. Clean in every space. Scrape the tooth. Don't push too hard into the gums. Clean the piece of floss. Floss can reach the things your bristles never will.

Fifth, floss both sides of the tooth. Go into every gap and be sure to clean the outer edge of your furthest molars. These are often missed so you need to spend some extra time back there to be the most effective. Sixth, put a new section of floss between every gap.

Some people also put their teeth through the ringer. They use their teeth to rip open bags, pop off bottle caps, carry bags, crush ice, and snarl at enemies. Your teeth are pretty incredible, but they do have their limits.

Over time, activities like these will wear down your teeth. Eventually, one bottle cap too many can break your teeth. So act like a human and try to use the great inventions we have to do these jobs for you. Your teeth are for eating and smiling. Let them do what they were made to do, and limit all other activities.

If you're reading this blog then you've likely already lost your first set (baby teeth). Don't ruin your second set.
